1.Describe in detail one piece of writing that you have done in English. It could be a class assignment, a letter, a story, etc. Tell me the process that you used in writing it; in other words, how did you go about the task? Then tell me what you enjoyed about it and what was difficult. Remember to explain why.
I would like to talk about my experience to write a email. I get used to send email to keep in touch with my friends instead of writing a letter on a piece of paper. When I start to write an email, first of all, I will consider who I want to write to, why I want to write to them and what is going on with him/her during the last time I contacted with them. It m.ight need couple of minutes. And then I decide how many paragraph I will write in this email, it usually depends on how many topics I
will talk about. So normally, I need say “hi” to my friendsat the beginning of the email. For the second paragraph,
I ask about their study and job, and talk something we haven’t finished in last email. And then the third paragraph
I tell them something about myself, such as, my study, my new friends , my new job and so on. At last, I always would like
to give them my greeting.

That is the way when I write an email to my friend. I like to share everything with my friend. And I always try my best
to help my friends. That is the really enjoy part for me. The difficult thing is sometime I get confused by myself,
Because I always write whatever when I just remember and the content wherever in the email. I think that is kinds
of coherence, which I don’t really good at. I would write lots of sentences that are not related to the main topic in the letter. That’s something I need to improve.

2. Do you enjoy writing in your native language?  Why or why not?  What do you write in your native language?

Yes, I enjoy writing in my native language. I have my ownblog, and I like to share some funny things happened aroundme with my friends. When I meet some frustration, I liketo write down some words and encourage myself. Writing is not only a way to communicate with friend, but also a goodmethod for you to tell the true feeling in your mind. That why I like to writing in my native language.

3. Have you ever kept a diary or journal?  Explain.

Yes, I kept a diary when I was in high school. And I wrote it in English. I tried to write it when I was in middle school, bbecause I was so interesting in English. Then in order to improvemy English, I started to keep a English diary. It continued until I graduated from the college. And I also kept a journal during my college life.My family afforded my tuition fee, besides of that, all my living fees I had to earn by myself. That why I need a journal to make a record of everything. Then I found it was really good for you to control your pocket.

4.  What do you feel is the most important thing you want to learn from this class?

Actually, I like reading. And there is no problem for me have conversation with foreigners. But when I start to write a article, I know the topic, but I am lack to use some specific examples to support my topic. I always write something depart from the main topic. I think that is the most important thing I want to learn from this class.

I used to write emails the same way I wrote real letters, but then I realized that I didn’t need to write so much if I can write so often. Now I feel like emails are less personal because they are so easy. I don’t correspond with friends the way I used to because it is so easy to do it quickly and superficially. I think many Americans don’t worry very much about coherence in emails to friends. The rules we apply to academic writing don’t apply so much in friendly emails.

I’m happy that you enjoy writing in your native language. Please feel free to begin putting your personal journal on this blog in English. It would be great practice, and I think everyone would like to know more about you and your ideas.

I hope I can help you to come up with supporting ideas in your essays this semester.

    Thanks for writing!
